There are games afoot here. I think that the solar aspect of the project is very much alive and well.
I don't know how the economics of the $15B cable component of the project could ever stack up.
Twiggy can now swoop in and buy the project from the receivers and pursue his green hydrogen / ammonia ambitions with this massive solar array. This will allow the power generated to be sold to the highest bidder (via seaborne delivery) and not be locked into a sole customer via cable.
With the East Coast energy prices the way they are an overland interconnection to east coast power grids is also viable but most importantly for TIVAN there should be ample power and hydrogen available in Darwin.
