I find it hard to believe that there are so many people in our community who have so little knowledge of basic science and biology, particularly botany.
To have a living planet the one most important gaseous ingredient is carbon dioxide, for without it there would be no plant life and therefore no other significant forms of life.
Carbon dioxide is without a shadow of a doubt the most important of our atmospheric gases. It is required for the essential processes of plant life particularly photosynthesis, for which we receive the beneficial production of oxygen from this process.
For every molecule of carbon dioxide consumed in the process of photosynthesis we get an equal molecule of oxygen produced.
Every living organism on this Planet contributes to the production of carbon dioxide and without such production we would not have life existing, as we know it.
The majority of plants on this Planet without going into the detailed processes in regard to photosynthesis are C3 plants, whose adaptation and evolutionary development took place 100's of millions of years ago when the Earth's carbon dioxide concentration was 100 times that of today. To put it mildly these plants, which contribute to 95% of the plants on this Planet, would prefer to have an environment with a much higher concentration of carbon dioxide. For these plants an increased carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere would be most welcomed as it would for most plants enhance their growth enormously.
Ironically, this is how you "green the world"!
If you are aware of glasshouse production you would also be aware that for many crops to produce an increased yield can require the enrichment of carbon dioxide into a controlled glasshouse environment. Such increases can be up to nearly 1% giving proportional increases in photosynthetic capabilities.
It is a complete and utter sham that carbon dioxide at a .035% level is contributing to global warming. If this were the case then our night times would be getting warmer and they are not. For a green house environment to exist the Planet needs more water vapour in the environment, in the form of cloud cover as this then allows for the long wave radiation to be trapped keeping the Earth warmer at night just like a glass house and this is not happening.
Where I live it was the coldest winter last year on record, proving that there is no greenhouse effect and that the gases of any consequence for modifying the Planet's climate are not occurring.
Global warming is a sham and should be exposed for the non-scientific Mumbo Jumbo that is.
