Bershire Hathaway was originally, and still is an insurance company that uses it excess revenue to make other investments.
And while they have indeed outgrown their relience on profits from that sector of the business, they are still an insurace company.
And yes maybe in general, insurance companies are "parasites " similar to the banks in gouging their customers.....but they MAKE money.
IE profits for their owners.... the shareholders........... ergo, the shares go UP.
SUN is BOTH a Bank and an Insurance company..... best of both worlds.. not rocket science.................
So in general terms, to be long NOT short in these type of entities make sense.
