Yeah, and it's also pretty obvious that there's another reason AH gave it a plug; StateOne took a bit of the last placement, so it pays to push your own barrel to some degree. By this reasoning I'd expect that Hartleys (who plugged MRX in the fish rag alongside StateOne's polish-up of MTB) are nuts deep in MRX. It's no surprise that this sort of stuff happens; brokers are as self-serving as anyone else, and if you could give publicity to a stock you've bought, why wouldn't you?
However, the cynic in me thinks that the ambit claims of StateOne having blown their shares out into this rally are probably a bit far from the truth, if the logic holds true that you only plug things you hold, not the ones you've just sold. Because they gave it a shunt, leads me to conclude that their clients still hold stock.
Thus, the run in the Sunday Times is probably a bit from column A and a bit from column B.
