Mate how it works is they pay 655m US and in return they get 36.4% of nickel and cobalt production at no further cost for a defined period. Now at todays spot prices that would be for about 3.5 years of nickel at 7,789 tons per annum and about 1.3years of cobalt or 1,852 tons. That is at spot prices of 22,000 for nickel and 58,000 for cobalt. Now Sunrise has a negative operating cost because of cobalt credits, which is a major advantage for the car makers as they are not losing any product to operating costs. So the price the equity investors pay per ton is dependent on how many years of 36.4% of production they receive.
