Ageing populations are being supplemented by immigration because it costs to much to live.
I would have ten kids but can only afford two.
House prices and childcare are the two main reasons.
Opening up the coast to cheaper accomodation will inevitably lead back to one person earning and one at home.
Then you could stop immigration completely if that's the goal.
The alternative is a slow death from population decline and health care costs.
We're talking about a better Australia for Australians after all.
There is nothing wrong (nothing better) than living in rural Australia and commuting to a city within an hour without using your car.
It's smarter living with greater opportunity and greater choice of lifestyle.
Again... no brainer.
