Mum used to make these.
Looked 'greyish', and VERY heavy on the stomach.
Regret not writing down how she made all those yummy foods.
She never had recipes, and could cook the best rabbit stews,
and NEVER once even tasted for seasoning, let alone ate rabbit.
There's more to it than this perhaps, I think my sister knows.
Rohe Klöße (Raw Dumplings). These are made from raw grated potatoes.
I can clearly remember Mum grating the potato, on a home made grater.
Squeezing all the moisture out, using a tea towel.
Can't remember what else after that though.
Flour? Egg? some onion?
We had them with burnt, (slightly), chopped onions, in butter sauce.
