Super is a great place, but its hard for the starters to get above that minimum "level", once that level hits (as per that report using a small $20,000 balance), its not to bad, but because there is a "fixed" cost, its always going to be bad for very small funds. That is why its always in the media "dont have two funds" as fees for very small balances are high....
Side suggestion is to join your SMSF (assume corporate trustee) for 2-4 years, to get that small balance, so its not to bad.
