super funds having another tough year ..., page-4

I had an interesting conversation with work colleagues recently.

We were talking about the share market. I asked people how they had their accumulation super funds invested.

Guess what??

None of them knew how their retirement savings were invested.

Obviously, because they've done nothing about it, they will be in the default "balanced" fund, which in most cases, is heavily exposed to equities.

Apathy reigns.

Obviously, the punters are responsible for their own destiny, but I'm wondering if the super funds had some sort of "responsibility" for advising members about more sound options in volatile times??
