as you can see, fixed interest has done better than balanced over the last 5, 7 and 10 years.
i picked the 7 year span because it includes a major top and a major bottom so i think it a good test of fund manager ability.
i think there are many people in managed funds who are underwhelmed by the efforts of fund management.
