    Hi BugGold

I am also aware of the issue of time to research every stock to ensure I have diversification to minimise risk.

To get around this I intend to simply have some of my portfolio invested directly in stocks like STW that simply attempt to track an index.

That gives me instant diversification for some of my portfolio with the all the flexiblility I want to be able to control my own destiny in a SMSF to invest when and as I see fit.

I'm not necessarily saying to use only STW for this purpose - however there are other LICs out there (ARGO comes to mind - I know there are some others) that can give you the diversity without the fund fees that you will find in places like Australian Super.

I guess it comes down to personal preference.

    Cheers

    Hevlet
