Absolutely NO superfund is allowed to "lend" your shares for short selling! A friend of mine raised that with them after the Opes scandal in 2008 and they just laughed at him!
The system is that all shares are are grouped and held in a separate Trustee account. They are as safe as can be.
I am sure you will have more than enough choice from the 240 funds accessible. These are all from the main fund managers, and they are all "wholesale" funds not "retail", which comprise most of the Morningstar list. The savings from investing in wholesale funds as opposed to retail is significant
