But I can assure you that, if you were to ask some of the rampers nicely, you might get the straight answer as to whom it was that made those baseless claims.

With due respect Ironpony, what makes you say that, and what makes you so sure that it is impossible. Have you asked any Lawyers around.??
Why do you think that Taxpayers would have to foot the bill if an Independent Legal Firm which specialise in these sort of things and litigations was to take on the case.?
I did, and I offered maxw not once but a few times, the name of these Lawyers that works in that way and under that Principle. I even offered to supply Maxw with the name of the person that he should contact if he was to go down that road, all to no avail.
And in case you don't know it yet, let me clarify one thing here as to how these Specialist Lawyers work.
A) To begin with, they look at all the circumstances surrounding the case, they do searches of past announcements, they investigate the course of tradings, and then they will decide if they have a chance of success or not. If they are happy with it,
B) They then approach some firm that specialize in funding these cases and if that Firm's Legal team agree that the chances are in their favour, they will proceed with it and that is when the music of the Opera begins.
Maybe some better research on your part, before you come out with all of those baseless and unsubstantiated accusation, would go along way towards making it all more credible.
Besides, it was another poster that said that he was going to seek the services of a private lawyer and that he had a certain amount of cash guaranteed by some person to start the ball rolling.
Now...what happened there.??
