I always knew women were disadvantaged in society....in a number of aspects....she is included in the husband's wages when determining say the pension and centrelink payments . Your wife works for 10 years , loses her job and receives no unemployment benefits as you now support her ! When/if you receive the old age pension the pension is reduced from a two person amount calculation..
Every person in this country should be treated as an individual with equal rights....If your wive had meagre super , then there is the safety net of the single old age pension for her or anyone else....There should be no couple pensions only individual ones...
If you do not qualify then so be it...judged on you as an individual....Your wive should also be treated as a pure citizen and judged upon her circumstances only....
This animal farm crap that is employed to reduce peoples rights should be eradicated.....Everyone is an individual and the premise that your partner is your chattel is downright slavery....
