Hi Noodlesom - I am not an expert in this area but I think you really need to set up a SMSF. If you use your existing fund you will not be able to have input to the selection of the stocks you want to invest in. Your fund manager is responsible for advising you and managing your investments. He has certain legal obligations and he might be held liable (if you lose money) for putting you into a particular stock that you have selected.
