Abolish the Old Age Pension if that is what is needed, but anyone who looks too carefully at our Superannuation laws will find that they would have been better off investing (or even putting the money into a basic Bank Account) themselves.
The ATO maybe hasn't the resources the ensure the basics of Superannuation are happening because it is too endemic, but ask them for advice and it will catch their attenion and they will get out the fine tooth comb. A lot of peoples SG contributions arent even being paid to their nomiated Super Fund but fixing that isn't interesting. Much more interesting checking out stuff thats from left field.
