Super funds do engage in short selling, to hedge their positions, and they also lend out stock to short sellers as a means of income via fees.
However, funds almost always offer investment pools of various focuses, rather than allowing you to short a particular instrument. I've not heard of any of them offering a pool composed of short positions, that sounds like a nightmare. Most funds acknowledge that in the long run, the stock market goes up, and funds being there for the long run, would see an exclusive short fund as a way to lose money for their customers.
