Hello liam,
I am not a financial adviser and frankly I am an idiot if I follow my own advice. - Thats a disclaimer!!
My understanding is that industry superannuarion funds are required to stick to a formula, depending on asset allocation.
MY super fund told me that Asutralian securities are invested in the ASX 300, weighted to the Market Capitalisation of each listed company. So you will find that if you are in Australian securities most of your money is invested in the CSL is almost 9% and CBA is 7%.
Default fund is a mix of securities, cash and bonds.
AS far as I know, the investing requirments are prescriptive and funds are not permitted to trade. So not shorting.
