    Hi Nous,

You should also remember that it was a Labor Government that order spy overflights of the Franklin back in 1983. The first time ever that an Australian Government had ordered the defence forces to spy on its own territory.

    So, trust is entirely right.

Trust a party which is happy to deploy the air force against its own.

Trust a party which was happy to align itself with the Russians back in the mid-80s (remember the Coombes affair which helped to bring down Mick Young).

Trust a party which says that it needs to govern in order to fix up what's wrong in health, education, and public transport, and yet forgets that it already controls 8 State and Territory Governments which are meant to already be responsible for all these.

Trust a party which seeks to by-pass due process and reward an ex-Governor with a so-called "its fair" payment of $625,000 (no questions asked).

Trust a party which caved in to the unions on the MCG re-development and, in the course of doing so, forfeited $80M in Federal funds.

Trust a party which back-pedalled on the Mitcham-Frankston Freeway and will now have tolls for that road (if ever it is finally built), even though the Federal Government offered >$400M in return for no tolls.

Trust a party which went to the polls in Queensland earlier this year claiming that all was well with the State electricity system only to now see that system crashing down all around.

Trust a party whose Premier is likely to be cited before ICAC because of issues related to the State's health system, and is again in trouble concerning Orange Grove.

Trust a party which claims that it wants all Australians to climb the ladder of opportunity, only to berate them (and accuse them of being rich) once they earn more than $52,000 per week.

Trust a party which says pursue the opportunity, but don't discard your shackles, as we do not want you to be too successful in what you do or achieve.

Trust a party whose former PM failed to lodge his own taxation returns whilst actually PM.

Trust a party whose National Secretariat office building in Canberra is leased at well above market rates to the Federal Goavernment and was locked in as such (on extended long term leases) before power was lost in 1996.

    Now, that's trust for you.

The Coalition n(and Howard) certainly have their failings. But, if trust is going to be an issue, let's not forget that trust begins with one's own self and in this instance, the Labor Party is probably as trustworthy as what the Coalition is - certainly, not more trusting.
