I rarely use antibiotics but a few years ago had a staph infection that started on my face, probably from shaving.
Over the next week it escalated, even after the doctor gave me a double course of strong antibiotics but then it was suddenly under control and then gone. All I have to show for it is a small white scar in the shape of a cross on my face at it's source and the realisation that before antibiotics such a simple thing could have been a death sentence.
Those figures are scary.
