This is part of 'strategic pricing strategy' that Coles implements for all products. It's especially prevalent on New Products in their first few months.It's for advertising, promotion and data collection.There are various rotations. I suspect the next special could be "Any 2" for $6 or $8 and that would go down a treat if Coles introduces all 12 SKUs in the Pro and Plant ranges.When a product is on "Special" it will appear in the Weekly Specials Catalogue and in the "Specials" sections online.
This is good for brand awareness and encourages people to try new products.It's all standard practice and positive imo.
