I often compare my investment performance against published fund performance tables and have just done this again now (15.3% for 1617FY). My calculations are pre tax and include all costs. Over many years, I have typically returned at the top end of the scale and quiet often I beat the best in the published tables. I wonder if I my simple calculation of return is valid as I would not expect to be consistently at the top of the list.
