No the don't want to know you at all. Customer service is an absolutely awful job. I did it when I was much younger and I hated it. There are so many arseholes and ignorant pricks around that dealing with the general public is just awful. Those people at the checkouts have a tough job dealing with the public and mostly are fairly young. If they don't spruce the patter they are taught they end up getting sacked, that's the way it is. I fell for them having to deal with the general public especially in Servo's and late night food outlets. All the drunks are out and about. You know one of the bad things about drunks is they all think theyre funny and if you don't like their joke some of them become abusive and aggressive.
