You are missing a good experience in human relations.
The staff generally are on programme and quite possibly don't give a toss or care.
However, experiment with this a bit.
When they ask how you are - answer something simple like 'good thanks',
But, without a pause add - 'and how are you'.
Look them in the eyes as you say it - mean it.
Most of the time - in fact the vast majority of time - you form an instant bond with a human who does, in that instant care about you.
The mini time relationship grows from there.
It matters not a zot if they have pimples, tatts, fat, black, white or whatever - once they know you are interested in them - you become human and not another body in the line.
Try it, but do yourself and the rest a service by giving it a fair crack.
