@touquoydifferent time horizons dont make particular types of investors special - they are simply different. there is no particular merit or strength to either - except as measured by financial returns over the different time intervals
to think otherwise is a lie people tell themselves or to rationlise an approach that suits their personal idiosyncracies.
you keep posting your distaste for people with different performance expectations - you would be indifferent if it was of no concern.

personally I view the sp as neither a good or bad thing necessarily - once the breakdown from leadership occurred.
now its just a thing. im more concerned with understanding what causes stocks to perform as they do and so judging when are good times to buy or not etc
as for precious metals vs base - that really isnt how the market functions - as ive already pointed out.
it isnt some kind of wishy washy 'perception' thing
it is about the hard partitioning of stocks into specific category aisles by the professional marketplace - with different price multiples as a result
Tesla is priced as a tech stock not a car stock - because Musk brought the stock up not via the traditional car manufacturer capital markets channels - but through the EV tech sector space
the result is that Tesla is priced at 100x General Motors multiple or whatever it currently is - far larger than any valuation explained by their relative profit margin per car x cars made, net asset base etc
it is because Tesla is in a different category aisle - priced vs different applicable sector multiples it gets compared with, hence my frito lay vs organic chip eg the other day
the same thing happens to rock stocks - as id said a few times prior.
as for BML deriving a higher silver revenue than lead - id outlined as much to the ceo mid last year. But it would be fair to say none of that has reflected in business plan or positioning to this point. not that it should have either. each exec has to make determinations in accord with what they see as best.
but again - this goes back to the fundamental difference between cap gain investor vs dividend investor and how they compare vs executive plans
cap gain investors tend to focus on metal spot price reaching a goal and looking for stock sp increases to reflect that.
whereas to-production mining execs have to focus on the long run avg received price over 10-15 years
divvy investors are effectively a compromise mix of the 2 - buying that long run business plan in the expectation it will result in divvies plus cap gains
BML has framed Sorby Hills in the fashion of seriously intending to mine - so its plan is a steady state output that can tolerate the historic ups and downs of silver price without being hostage to its downs
the flip side is that - as a pure on-market exposure - its not going to offer the earnings leverage of say SVL in a given year at really lofty silver prices.
this is the main reason there's a difference of opinion on this forum - people want different things from the stock
all this said - there simply arent many ways to get quality silver exposure on the asx.
so i expect both investor types will ultimately get at least some of what they are looking for from BML
when stocks are in a hole like BML has been relative to other plays - cap gain focused investors get pernicketty and 'true believer' divvy investors fire back
it tends to all look foolish in retrospect
what is important isnt the sp - its understanding why and how it is what it is.
that gives one the best chance of being happy with either holding or not holding an exposure going forward
thats why i think understanding management's approach to BML is so important. theyve been articulating a base metal low risk long term go-mining focus
it seems likely investors will be happiest if that mentality suits them
