So the energy policy of the current American administration is to throttle back domestic production, but then when the result is higher fuel prices [*], the White House calls for increased production in other parts of the world.

Well, I guess one way to lower your country's carbon emissions is to get someone else to carry them. Hopefully the environment isn't smart enough to figure out the sleight of hand trick.

Demand Up+Supply Down= Price UP.

If this is becoming evident already, what's it going to look like in 2 or 3 years'time when the real impacts of the current under-investment in global oil capacity will be felt?
