The value of anything is never more that what someone will pay for it but more often than not it is much less than people will pay. A 5 buck straw hat is really worth about 2, throw in a 50cent surf logo and people pay over $50. Same hat different perception of value. Perceived value becomes the accepted value but very rarely reflects the true value.
Happy to stand corrected if someone has a different spin on "value and price".
