Years ago before computer trading one would sell their stock the moment it breaks support as BHP has done. However, today's markets are very, very unpredictable and we may well see BHP back above 40 tomorrow and behave as if nothing has happened. If it opens below 40 and stays there for an hour or 2 then the break of support is intact and validated.
