ha ha - yes I did!
I am not defending coal, I would prefer a massive switch to Gas for reliable baseload and am a big fan on Hydro and GeoT baseload as well.
But the reality for all the NIMBYS in a bubble is the world is producing huge amounts of stuff - and its not with a solar panel or a windmill.

Solar and Wind Ruinables (and future big battery backup) are simply not going to cut it for Industrial Processes/Manufacturing needed 24/7 - HEAT and Electricity required.
This is where the major energy needs are - not running your dishwasher off your Tesla!

Just telling it as it is. The transition is NOT GOING TO BE SMOOTH!
Too many people playing politics and living in dreamland - all about the screaming, shouting and virtue signalling.
And not enough people with Science, Engineering (STEM) backgrounds to come up with a proper executable transition plan.

I don’t believe for a minute, the 2030 date is going to be met by RWE. They kicked the can down the road.

p.s. I drove from Strasbourg to Paris the other day and returned a week later.
Field after field (100’s) of Wind turbines. Not a single one spinning around - both directions
