I haven't seen anyone argue against coal being the most economical source of power generation.The growth in renewables as a source of energy is simply to reduce carbon emissions, which you rightfully point out comes at a cost.
Gas replacing coal as the base load for electricity generation also helps achieve this goal, and is a big reason why I've invested in Strike,with demand for our gas only increasing in the years ahead imo
