The main reasons Alcoa is shutting down Kwinana is the plant has come under scrutiny from mines department due to injuries because they have run the place into the ground. It’s a dangerous shite hole that needs to be decommissioned,decontaminated or replaced. Aluminium prices are doing ok at the moment. As I said before they still have 2 other newer sites that they will still run if the are allowed to continue ripping up Forrest and catchment areas close to Perth.
