Easy. If you are looking at current polling for primary voting then you like the rest of the coalition are living in the past. Primary support was critical 20-30 years ago when there were really on 2 choices. Now you have a 3 way contest of ALP/LNP/Others. Each gathering around 35%.

HOWEVER...........Of that 35% others that cannot ever win on their own, the preference flows are clearly going to Labor. We see the decline from the former UAP and also now from ONP whose support base is in Qld. Yet the growth in Greens that clearly favour Labor and the TEALs that split around 60/40 in favour of Labor. LNP are left scratching for a few RSL members and religious members that will continue to decline in numbers. For every 80 year old that dies in a nursing home there are more 18 year olds graduating from uni.
