Support Groups

Hi All

I know there is a lot of speculation about what went on at BIG and there are answers to a lot of it.

Personally though each time I read a new post my heart and mind is going out to all of you who have been burned by this and the stories of potential self harming and wives and kids leaving etc.

I think the community here needs to maybe do more for each other than just put up a number to lifeline. It is at these times when the severity of things or perceived severity takes hold and people don't think rationally. They can be lonely times and just reading a well intentioned post with a number there some times doesn't cut the mustard and is forgotten or not acted on soon enough.

There is nothing to be ashamed of for anyone in this in regards to investors other than maybe a little self greed. Who hasn't been guilty of that at times. I personally know a fund manager with years of experience in Hong Kong who had BIG on his radar and was kicking himself for missing out as he simply missed his entry by a couple of days due to business and thought he had lost a good investment for his clients. This was in Jan when we last spoke so before it finished up so even he was duped.

However back to those suffering to the point where it is a real life or death experience or causing a marital breakdown etc.

I'm proposing that maybe groups in each capital are formed to maybe at least get together once and share a war story or if you don't want to then just get along and listen and support each other. Just being around others and talking is often a good healer and maybe even bring your spouse to show that it really was on paper a decent investment and other "smart " people thought the same. Yes mistakes have been made in how much of one's portfolio is invested but as i said before who hasn't done that.

I have seen groups like this formed before amongst some friends of mine but in relation to one of them losing his child. That was a very very sad event but the other stuff that has come out of it with these semi regular meets have gone beyond that initial problem and it is helping a lot of others get stuff off their chest that no one ever knew about.

I hope i'm not being too righteous and that isn't my intention to be a healer or offer advice but this is painful for a lot of people and you are all bigger than those who perpetrated this. Don't do something silly due to actions that seemingly were beyond people's control. Life is too good despite how it seems now and time heals. Right now there is some poor little kid in Syria or Africa who doesn't have any opportunity to escape their shocking life ever and yet you still see pictures of smiles emerge.

I'm in Sydney and happy to meet with any of you who are genuine investors or non holders and not associated with the company. As I said, even if it's just once and you find someone there you click with and can then support each other moving forward it could be worthwhile. I was thinking others in other states could do the same.
