Treass - you hit the nail on the head!

I posted ages ago, that to me, it made sense that a few of the smaller CSG coys should all merge, as I think, the "whole" would be more valuable than the parts !

Just think - a bigger merged entity would have better access to capital, it could combine management and expertise (ie rationalise exploration teams and mgt), could combine rigs, would have far, far greater valuable acreage, and could focus all rigs and capital on proving-up 2P reserves on the very best permits, so that they could commercialise that best permit, then move onto others.

It will never happen, because mgt would not want to lose jobs, or disband teams, they would argue about which permits are best/potential, and argue about values.

I think, such a merger would only come about from a push by s/h.

One of the reasons Pure Energy got such a premium, was because of the size of their acreage.

Big boys such as BG etc, don't want minnows - they would be more interested in a bigger bite.
