This is absolutely spot on. SMN initial patent holds that this works for fluid flow. I.e pressure or vacuum. It doesn't take much physics to work out that regardless of external pressures there would be a detectable flow across an impedance... which is the crux of this technology. Material for use in hazardous environments are already a known. We have put a man on the moon and I believe that there has been some advancements since then.
