I actually think how you view the market is overall positive. Understanding the indicators you view in context is the key. Whether 100 EMA or a 2o ema, its the context in which you use them in and your understanding of the metrics (number crunching) that matters.
Experiencing a stochastic 14-3-3 out of consolidation has more weight than a stochastic crossover within a trend continuation.
