Jessie,
It is interesting that there always seems to be about 850,000 on the sell side and 300,000 (sometimes goes up to 500,000) on the buy side. Interestingly numbers on the buy side are up tonight.
You can generally see a good percentage of the buy volume in the ten visible prices on Comsec but the same can't be said for the sell side.
Do traders with better trading platforms have visible access to bids further up and down the scale - so they can better see where longer term support/resistance lies??
Are the bids off the scale legitimate historical ones that have not elapsed after 1 month - or have they been "manually" (ASX term)placed by the "Bot Meisters" to give the impression of overweight on the sell side??
I'm sure a lot of investors look at the buy/sell displays to help assess whether the bulls or the bears are in control.
Does anyone have access to the full range of bids they could provide as an example??
Interesting.
I noted some time back that Eric the German had asked his broker to put in sells at very high prices eg >$10??. If they allowed bids that far from the market price then it is likely to have been counterproductive as it would have made the sell side look overweight. Do we have a lot of Biota shareholders with sell bids in at $2-65 etc waiting to get out if the price rises? Are they chartists who reckon resistance is at $X and they will sell out on a spike??
PS Eric - hope all goes well for you in Germany.
Any comments
