Lianeisme - there are many 'complex' I expect - but from a simplicitic standpoint - I observe the following:
1. we are not immune from the worldwide banking chaos.
2. the Aust banks jacked up Int Rates because of high funding costs - so they can not rebuke the fact that they are certainly impacted by global issues in banking.
3. It is felt that the banking issues in Ireland and other countries is far from over.
4. CBA is heavily capilitised in the Aust housing market - if anything like the US housing crisis was to hit Aust - CBA would be cained.
BUT - I like the Aust Banks - it is just getting a good entry. I recently sold - after an attempt at a scalp - got smacked with a few K loss ... I like the banks profits ... but it should not be a given that the golden period will continue forever - look around the world. cheers Ian H.
