NCM left a gap at $1.50 on 1/9/98 and a larger gap at $2.01 on 24/9/98 before moving to the $40's.
Those gaps didn't fill after a few months, a few years or after 15 years.
You wouldn’t have done too well shorting at $2.50 or $3 and waiting for those gaps to fill.
Near term gaps often fill simply through natural volatility but obviously gaps don’t always get filled and it makes no sense looking too far back.
