People forget (or don't realise) thay many are swayed by comments on hotcopper. There have been a couple of occasions in the past where I did thorough research on a company but allowed the sentiment on hotcopper to alter my decision to invest because the sentiment was very low. I lost the potential to make a lot of money because of it as the share price rose drastically afterwards.

These days I fully trust my research rather than comments on these forums (which I do take into account) but unfortunately this isn't the case for everyone.
I find it frustrating that many people hype a stock when it's on a run to sell at a premium and lambast when they want take advantage of weak/shakey hands to buy lower.
