Yep - I have a property in Melbourne which we built to be our home and then due to a massive change in circumstances ended up moving back to Sydney.
Count me in the nervous crowd - property investment was not part of my strategy but due to a number of factors it has just not been worth trying to sell. The estate where we built our house still has land for sale and they have dropped the land prices - people just don't buy an existing house in a development when they still have the option to build their own house to spec.
Currently sitting in the position where we owe the bank about the same as the market value of the property and with nowhere near enough capital gains elsewhere to offset the loss we'd make.
