I used to hire casuals who would get their license on the weekend and turn up to work for me through the agency on the Monday. I would always trial them out, all of them said they could drive. When you’re in charge of people around you, you don’t take second chances or believe anyone. It wouldn’t take long to work out who could drive and who you wouldn’t trust with a pallet jack. Heard a story from an instructor, he turns up on a site to do a site test, he’s in this warehouse and a lady is picking in an isle, guy flys around the corner with his tynes in the air, spears her in the head, she’s wiggling there with the life going out of her, turns out that was the guy that was supposed to be being tested. They give the licenses away like candy. Seen very stupid things being done by grown men. Fruit & veg markets are the worst, lunatics. Very stupid idea.
