Nice try, Trev. Cougar was a UCG company, not a CSG company. They are completely different processes.
Also, the levels of "pollution" that Cougar released were around 2ppb of benzene, levels less than that found in some cans of orange soft drink, and hundreds of times less than that in the air around a petrol station.
Cougar's fine was also due more to the breaching of their Environmental Authority caused by casing failure than the actual level of pollution. The pollution itself was completely insignificant - the fine was for poor engineering practices.
