I agree with you that locals need to understand that gas drilling can be done safely.
A couple of points - pretty much all oil and gas wells will drill through an aquifer. The important mechanical issue is to make sure that aquifers are protected by good casing and good cement jobs. You've got the wrong idea if you think that Redsky's well didn't drill through the aquifer. Is it now Red Sky good, Metgasco bad?
FYI all water wells also drill through aquifers - that's the point of drilling them, to get to the water.
