STX has one advantage over SXY in that it is not based in Queensland. When Premier Newman goes for an election on Jan 31, he is going against ASX seemingly pricing in an Australian recession & all these economic issues pervading Australia seemingly against the rest of the world. Punters don't necessarily look beyond the tier of Gov't when voting. I think Qld will get mightly beat up by royalty taxes if Gov't changes.

SXY & all Cooper basin players may b affected by a change in Gov't to a Labor Gov't who got there by default, they might increase royalties, nationalise. IMHO, it is all due to a Federal Government that promised alot and then only raised Federal MP salaries & their expenses, the oz economy looks like a basketcase & in that context, I wouldn't be assurred of any gains on STX, SXY & DLS for at least six months.
