NFL continues to survive, albeit at a much, much lower share price than 12 months ago.

Looking at other biofuel companies listed on the ASX the only one that seems to be holding up well is MBT.

MBT has plants that are producing and have (expanding) arrangements for sourcing jatropha oil, about the only feedstock that is economical for biodiesel plants at present.

BEI is in the process of being bought back by it's major owner. ABJ are twiddling their thumbs with their plants sitting doing nothing. AAE just weeks away from fully completing their first biofuel plant have announced that they plan to sell it for slightly less than it cost to build, leaving them with some cash and some vague plans but I cannot see that the cash they will have will be enough to make any sort of difference given the current debt market climate.

ARW? What's happening with them? I've read and heard very little of late. SBI? Seem to be travelling okay but like ARW I've read very little lately.

NFL's asset utilisation plan (ie glycerine refining) last I read was going according to plan. Has NFL done enough to survive in these tough times of high feedstock prices and practically no support from the Australian government? I think they have, whilst not as well placed as MBT they sure look to be in a much better position than AAE, ABJ & ARW.

Personally I think NFL's share price does not reflect their future outlook but that is understandable in the current climate for biofuel companies listed on the ASX and with feedstock prices the way they are. We are due to get an update on their progress this month. I'm hoping we get an announcement in the next week or two rather than having to wait til the end of the month when they announce their 2nd quarter cashflow position.
