At these SP's NST is very vunerable to a TO. The likely suitor could be a Chinese consortium. China is very hungry for gold, it's appetite increasing with each passing day. Why pay spot prices for gold when you can own a gold mine with cash costs of < $700 oz. Australia continues to let foreigners own our minerals, best agricultural land and businesses. Further more IMO, the Chinese cannot be trusted at face value with their business dealings (look what has happened to SDL).
This would be at a very big disadvantage to LT Holders of NST who can look forward in the years to come with FF divs and capital appreciation.
Bill, do you have a strategy to keep NST in Australian ownership for years to come for the benefit of Australians OR are you happy along with a minority, including short sellers, to make a quick profit?
