As the self appointed spokesman for an anonymous poster that could potentially be held responsible for some of the claims in my originating post, I thought it would be appropriate that I respond to your contribution.
- share price becomes erratic and human need wants to find a culprit
Hitched, I am not looking for a culprit, merely sitting back observing the shenanigans that are going on and telling it as it is. There are actually a number of posters I am concerned about who I regard as destructive to what the company is attempting to achieve.
- we are talking here about an individual who apparently looks after his ageing mother for a living and tries to supplement his income from a little trading
I have no problem with that particular virtual characterization. Noiprocs also spends a lot of time caring for aged parents, but invests rather than trades.
- well the little trading in cvi despite a great deal of investigative research which seemed positive, resulted in this individual losing a fair deal of money/opportunity
It is disappointing that someone's losses has resulted in the unfair bagging of a stock. One must learn to take responsibility for one's own investment decisions.
- he then became anxious that his research which had bolstered his first plunge was flawed or perhaps over-influenced by other ramping posters, and then became disallusioned that he could have been so blind to have continued a 'hold but do not trade' advocacy
Further proof that one must do their own Due Diligence and take responsibility for their own investment decisions. Anyone who takes what they read on Hot Copper as gospel without doing their own research is extremely foolish.
- realising that he had followed this share into significant profit but due to his agenda had not realised such, his delving took a cynical turn\
The phrase 'Due to his Agenda' is the key here. Now what exactly was/is his agenda? Why can't he simply believe or not believe? And if he has concerns, why doesn't he do the research to rule them in or out before posting, particularly when he professes to have a holding. And if he felt vindicated about his concerns after doing the research, why wouldn't he simply sell and then quietly disclose his actions without having to defend them to all and sundry. Or simply say nothing and wander off into oblivion!
- upon a recovery in the stock due to announcements about $1.1b funding, he then began to question his secondary impulse and took up a position once again
It could well be that he actually rode the stock from 10 cents to 24 cents as well. Nothing would surprise on here.
- this is one individual whose posting has been stimulating, provocative and thorough
Maybe, but has his 'meticulous' research and voluminous posting actually been helpful to other members of the forum and to the company he has invested in?
- but he is just a person on a forum
Exactly, but why must he/they go on and on and on having made a point, and dredge up negativity time and time again.
- he HAS NOT BEEN RESPONSIBLE for the so far lack of stellar heights in the share price
Don't under estimate the damage done to some holders after extensive stock bashing was done when the shares were trading around 10 cents not so long ago, and the damage that continues to be done by the dissemination of unsubstantiated doubt and negativity.
- and I suggest that creating a scapegoat out of a simple yet intelligent man attempting to better himself and contribute his wealth of ability to a forum is a course of action unproductive and incorrect and in hindsight will be seen to have been totally unnecessary
I wasn't looking to make a scapegoat of anyone but simply to draw attention to the sinister forces that are operating on these threads. The poster for which you are speaking for, is not alone in being responsible for the damage that is being done to people's investments in this company, presumably in pursuit of short term financial gain.
I have mentioned previously that everyone posts for a reason and comes from different perspectives with regard to investing, particularly in this sector. The continual noise on the CVI threads is a result of the competing interests at play.
With a bit of luck, the company's fundamentals will provide the driving force that will steamroller those with a short sighted view. We need to keep in mind where a 'project rich' mining company can go in a market that morphs into a raging commodities bull, as it eventually will. And if management are up to the challenge, the current malaise will seem like a fantastic buying opportunity when one looks back over the current stalemate from the vantage point of a few months time.
Rest assure there are no agendas here. I continue to hold a substantial holding.
