    Your first quote seems to give an overall, average grade, as it refers to the whole batch. Which would be as you describe the sampling and calculation process.

    The second quote is for one sample only. "ASSAYS RECEIVED FROM SELECTED SAMPLE".

    Sample, singular. Obviously, some samples will be above average, and others below average. No mileage out of reporting a below average sample, is there?
