    It would be reasonable to assume that the 'corporate negotiations' are more likely to be with Westpac rather than with any merger partner - based on performance, GLN don't really have much to offer to another group. As for Westpac, just put yourself in their shoes - not much prospect of remaining loans being repaid at the rate of loss last quarter and they WILL want their money back - it will be Westpac that controls the outcomes from here.
